Blog 16: 2-Hour House Meeting Answer #2


1.  How has social media most affected the way Americans interact?

2. Social media has affected the way Americans interact with other Americans both positively and negatively, by allowing us to be more connected and communicative.

·         For example, it is much easier today than it was during the pre-social internet to connect and communicate with person A and B time efficiently and over long distances
·         In fact, according to the Pew Research Center, two thirds of adults use social media websites, while
·         For example, we are able to possess different identities in the virtual world, therefore being able to connect and communicate with others better.

5. I plan to continue my study of answer 2 by researching specifically the sociological aspects of American-to-American interaction, in contrast to answer 1 that was focusing on American-to-Foreign interaction. Specifically, I hope to find more reports such as Social Media and our lives, that emphasis on digital social media, and not broadcast social media.
